Elyse: Quantum Botanical formulated mood oils
Back to Journal + Musings
As past severe anxiety and trauma has put me on the path of neuroscience guided meditation and quantum physics, I was ecstatic when I came across the newly launched Elyse aromatic mood oils based on quantum botanical formulations (the first time I have heard of it). I caught up with founder and creative visionary, Carol Mead, to hear about her journey to creating the brand and the art form of the magical oils.
‘The journey to launching the Elyse brand last year was a really personal one. I was working in a stressful position in a corporate firm and it began to ground me down so persistently to the point I was immobilised with a deep depression,’ she reflects, ‘I realised I was an empath and that numbing myself out with pharmaceuticals wasn’t right for me. A friend brought me some high-quality lavender oil and it had an instant impact on me and the energetic vibration of my body. From there I was hooked, I started mixing up my own natural ingredients and essential oils and taking them to work with me, where people started to purchase them,’ Mead explains.
I reflect on how much the science and understanding behind the mind, body connection has rapidly developed in a relatively short space of time, Mead agrees that before launching her own brand she continuously tried to source natural essential oils and ingredients online but could only find artificial fragrances amongst them or scented aromatherapy oils in high street health shops. After years of research, Mead discovered the still relatively unexplored art of Quantum botanical therapy: ‘During this time of research, I became obsessed by the plant world and found out about this year long course at the Natural School of Medicine run by a woman from the US whose mother healed herself of breast cancer this way. I expanded my knowledge learning about matter as vibration and how the fundamentals of vibrational medicine is through brain and heart coherence: Flowers contain therapeutic powers so essences can help us through trauma and life challenges.’
So how do these magical little bottles of essences get created?
‘I work with my mentor/medium (a fellow empath) by meditating alongside her, I get a download of what I want to do and a feel for the blend I want to create. From there colours, plants, vibrations come to me and I put together a moodboard of my instincts and vision for the blend,’ Mead enthuses. I ask why she chose oils rather than essences on the tongue: ‘it was due to how that original lavender oil so powerfully worked for me. Whilst more people these days are talking about functional fragrances, they all still have chemicals in them, whereas I was adamant I wanted to create something natural that reached cellular levels.’
Expect enticingly named blends including Euphoria, Elisse and Verdant X Shelly Vella: the latter is the mood oil I have been using through the anxiety ridden winter months containing cedarwood atlas, scotch pine, sandalwood and patchouli oils. Imbibing the essence on my pulse points is to experience the grounding nature of trees, foliage and sunlit dew beneath your feet on morning walks. As someone with a strong tendency to live ‘inside my head’ caught up in the strain of city life, I notice the immediate effects within my body, even releasing inner blockages, unlike the many potions I have tried over the last decade.
Mead explains, ‘It’s complex. These plant blends can help erase incorrect information from our cellular memory on a gentle energetic level. Dr Bach pioneered the 38 flower essences: he spent his life researching and discovered how plants can work on our DNA level, erasing negative cellular memory and restoring it. You can feel a whole body shift after inhaling the blends they are that powerful.’
What are the future plans?
‘I have more essences I am making up – ultimately I just want to reach more people and make their lives and journeys better.’
Can’t wait to see what Elyse creates next.
