Daisy Face skincare

As a sensitive skin sufferer, I have always been drawn to plant-based ingredients often dating back to ancient communities and wisdoms. Enter Daisy Face Skincare, a new luxury skincare brand that places the unique daisy stem cell extract at the core of its products. Combined with pure daisy oil, the formulation result is a niche combination of plant-based goodness and the science backed efficacy of stem cell extracts penetrating deep into the skin epidermis.

The consciously created vegan skincare, Daisy Face, is the brainchild of the lively Daisy Schaffer, whose own trials with ‘sick’ skin and a damaged skin barrier from over product usage ignited her desire to launch her own range: ‘I started stripping back on what I was putting on my skin, I came across Daisy Oil slightly by chance and noticed profound clearing and brightening. When I then decided to start my own skincare range, I spoke to an incredible scientist and started doing intense research and came across the brilliant but unknown daisy stem cell extract.’

The five curated products Schaffer launched with in January 2025: The Cleanser, The Exfoliator, The Toner, The Face Cream, The Eye Cream – ‘the premise I started the line with is that it is a whole regime, you don’t need anything else.’ So, expect precisely formulated products that use the unique daisy oil with daisy stem cell formula but also add in other fruit enzymes and actives for further efficacy. Schaffer explains, ‘The Daisy Stem Cell extract works at a deeper level, from skin cell/epidermal stem cell preservation, detoxification and protection. Whilst the Daisy Oil and other plant extracts provide more surface level support, such as emollience, restoring lipids, soothing skin and the peptides/active ingredients provide targeted anti-ageing.’

As stem cells are still a fairly new conversation in luxury skincare, what fascinates Schaffer about the ingredient and patented technology? ‘They (stem cells) are like bodyguards for the cells’ Schaffer explains, ‘They regenerate your skin cells, detoxify and protect them and the Daisy Oil contains a combination of antioxidant polyphenols, which help defend skin from free radicals, support skin healing, and help reduce the appearance of dark spots whilst brightening skin.’

Which were the most challenging products to formulate? ‘I think the exfoliator and toner.’ Schaffer agrees with me that in the past most exfoliators on the market have tended to be aggressive and toners too stripping. ‘For the Exfoliator I always found that they were too harsh for my skin so we wanted to make a product that was gentle on your skin and supported barrier repair while using a fruit acid blend that would gently exfoliate without causing damage and using ingredients like cucumber extract to soothe and hydrate.’ She continues, ‘for the Toner I completely agree that now many people exclude it from skincare regimes. I wanted to make a toner which was alcohol free so doesn’t trigger flare ups in sensitive skin and formulated it, so it was almost like a serum. It’s packed with gentle, soothing, and hydrating ingredients that help calm irritation, reduce redness, and strengthen the skin barrier, all of which are essential for sensitive skin types.’

Working closely with leading scientists in her UK lab, Schaffer adds in other tested plant powered ingredients and peptides to enhance the daisy oil/stem cell: The Cleanser, for instance, also includes Rose Floral Water to add radiance with its polyphenolic compounds, Allantoin for soothing hydration and improved skin texture, Cucumber extract for nourishing hydration, and Panthenol to strengthen the skin barrier. The Cleanser is also PH neutral.

These magical bottles of game changing efficacy work on all genders, ages, demographics, skin types: ‘my sister has extreme eczema issues and I wanted to make sure she could use them too.’ By creating a skincare brand with plant powered daisy at the centre, the Daisy Face Skincare range is also ahead of most independent brands in maintaining transparency of supply chain. ‘Our sustainability ethos is both in ingredient development and the packaging. Our forever vessel is made from aluminium, and our refills are recyclable. Our outer packaging is made from card and daisy seed paper which also can be planted and used to grow daisies. The Daisy stem cell extract is not harvested from wild fields or traditional farms; it is cultivated in a UK based lab using green biotechnology, a process often viewed as more environmentally friendly because it reduces land use, water consumption, and harvesting impact.’ She explains.

The future looks bright for the Daisy Face Skincare brand; they will be launching in acclaimed stockist, John Bell & Croyden on 3rd November and want to take a thoughtful approach to new products, listening to our community (Vit C, Glow serum and sheet masks are in the works) and Schaffer is looking to international regions. ‘Ultimately I want to change mindsets of people focused on skincare trends and over saturation of product to return to plant powered, simple, intelligent, self care.’
