Triple Solution Skincare

Triple Solution_Night Cream_5Triple Solution Skincare is the culmination of founder Trude Stene’s own heritage: born in Norway, imbibing the inherently holistic approach to skincare and way of life via visits to Uganda surrounded by the local communities, ingredients and ancient wisdoms, and her current homeplace, Switzerland where she has learnt about advanced biotechnology. Triple Solution skincare is a curated range of unique plant powered botanicals fused with bioscience techniques to deliver long term effects. I caught up with Trude to find out more about the Triple Solution story based on her own challenging experiences and how she only wanted to create a range that would support both nature’s ecosystems and female artisans.

‘For as long as I can remember growing up in Norway, we were taught to respect nature as not a backdrop but as a home. From young, I suffered from sensitive skin and breakouts,’ she continues, ‘then life took a challenging turn as doctors told me I was facing blindness and I began to reconsider my skincare rituals but also my way of living.’ Whilst Stene’s sight was thankfully saved, she spent time in Uganda working with female artisans who harvest naturally amongst the Himalayan and Amazonian backdrop. During a bad case of sunburn, the local communities rooted in their ancient philosophy, ‘Ubuntu,’ translating as ‘I am because we are,’ offered her homegrown botanicals to treat her skin: including rare Himalayan Apricot Kernel oil, Dhaleto Oil and Amazonian Sacha Indi Oil. And the results were transforming.

Having returned to her home in Zurich and Covid induced skin sensitivity, Stene decided to launch her own range that was ‘a tapestry of all her experiences.’ After five years of intense research, Triple Solution skincare launched May 2025, based around ‘three main hero botanicals that each come from a different fragile ecosystem:’ Nilotica, a North Ugandan grown rare variety of shea butter (grown wild along the Nile) which is softer and more nutrient-rich than the conventional shea. ‘The nuts are hand-gathered from naturally grown trees, dried in the sun and cold pressed to preserve fatty acids and vitamins.’ The Apricot Kernel Oil and Dhatelo Oil come from the Himalayas, where all fruits are harvested by women taught ancient techniques over family generations: the kernels are cold pressed to preserve the lightweight texture and the nourishing properties, which protect the skin from the cold mountain air without clogging pores. And Sacha Inchi Oil is derived from the Amazon, where indigenous communities have long used the seed as both food and skin oil. In all ingredient sourcing, Triple Solution skincare ensures they only work with partners who prioritise wild or semi wild growth, gentle extraction and fair pay for women who harvest and process the raw materials. These raw power plants are then fused with  advanced natural delivery systems such as Nio Oligo 3D to aid the active ingredients to reach deeper into the skin epidermis, ‘protecting sensitive actives from premature breakdown, increasing their absorption, and prolonging their effects.’ Trude continues, ‘we also use low molecular weight hyaluronic acid, which binds water together within the skin, together with higher molecular weight forms that remain close to the surface to provide immediate plumping and smoothing.’

As a sensitive skin sufferer, I was particularly intrigued by the way Triple Solution skincare only creates formulas that work with the skin microbiome by avoiding aggressive exfoliating acids and competing actives. For instance, the range uses natural alternatives to classic retinol, ‘Instead of strong synthetic retinol we use plant-based actives and gentle vitamin A like ingredients that encourage renewal in a slower way. We combine them with ingredients that support the skin barrier such as different weights of hyaluronic acid, omega rich oils and soothing botanical extracts.’

Triple Solution is inherently transparent: ‘we visit the harvesters, we work directly with local partners, we ask directly how women are paid if a harvest fails and sometimes have to accept the pace of nature itself.’  Triple Solution also plants three trees for every product sold, in the name of the customer, in the same areas as where we source. Triple Solution also collaborates with female collectives in North Uganda, who gather the Nilotica nuts from trees, supporting financial autonomy.

The curated range includes Rejuvenating Triple Action Serum, Revitalising Triple Action Day Cream, Regenerating Triple Action Night Cream, Triple Action Routine SET.

Trude concludes, ‘My hope is that Triple Solution becomes a quiet but steady force. A brand that proves you can have luminous healthy skin, honour the women and communities who care for the trees and leave the natural world in a better state than when you began.’
